In Memoriam – Dr. Ed Stokes

Dr. Ed Stokes, a professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department since 2001, passed away on Aug. 21^st, 2021. Dr. Stokes was an alumnus of The William States Lee College of Engineering, having earned dual degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Physics from UNC Charlotte in 1981. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 1996. A highly respected teacher of undergraduate and graduate courses, a top researcher, an entrepreneur, a musician and a family man, Dr. Stokes positively impacted the lives of his many students, colleagues, friends and family. He will be greatly missed.
